5th National Convention & Scientific Seminar
Annual Convention, 2009
The fifth Annual Convention and scientific seminar will be held in 10th and 11th december 2009. The theme of the convention, “Chronic Ambulatory Peritonial Dialysis - An alternate method of treatment in patient with End Stage Renal Disease. ” A group of renowned Nephrologist from USA and othe countries are expected to join the convention.
Training To Post Graduate Doctors In Nephrology, Dialysis & Transplant
Kidney Foundation is planning to start reguler lectures, case demonstration for doctors willing to take training in Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation. The lectures will be given by renowned Nephrologist of the country. Initially the lectures will be held every Saterday from 9-10 AM. The lecture will start from mid August.
Outdoor Specialist Service
Kidney FOundaiton Hospital at dhanmondi Road-8 House-6 Dhaka started specialised Nephrology Service daily from 10 AM to 12 PM except Tuesday. Kidney transplant patients are followed up in every saterday from 5 PM to 9 PM. Prof. Harun-Ur-Rashid is giving specialised service on the above date and time.
Kidney Foundation Branch Hospital At Pabna And Savar
We are planning to start telemedicine with Pabna Kidney Foundaiton hospital from mid August.
Kidney Foundation is also planning to arrange stone laying ceremony at Savar to start New hospital building next week preferebly Friday morning.
Progress Of Kidney Foundation Hospital & Research Institiute At Mirpur, Dhaka
The Construction work of Hospital at Mirpur, DHaka is progressing well. On 30th july the structure of the 3rd floor is completed. The first and second florr will be completed by December 2009. If everything goes well we are planning to start Outdoor service within the begining of January. By March 2010, Outdoor dialysis unit will be started. And by June indoor Hospital can be hopefully started.
Donation to Kidney Foundation
We are very glad to announce that Brac Bank has decided to donate 50 lakh taka to kidney foundation. The first installment of 25 lakh taka will be released soon.
Dhaka bank will be releasing second installment of 50 lakh taka for Kidney Foundation in a simple ceremony in next week.
A donation of 5 lakh taka has already recived from Khandakar Rafiqul Islam and Mr. Jahangir in last week.
A 25 lakh taka donation has also recieved in before two weeks in mid July from one Philanthropist from Jakat Fund. The donor would not like to disclose his name.
Update In Renal Transplant
Untill Now Kindey Foundation Successfully perform 123 transplants within last 2 years 9 months.The success rate is 98.5%. Only living related kidney transplant is performed in this center. The donor is parent to sibling, sibling to sibling, and spouse to spouse. If a donor is not available within this relationship we allow second degree relation like maternal and paternal uncle unties.
Kidney foundation is trying to introduce deceased kidney transplants. We are already surveying ICU patients, their relations in order to see the possibility of donating kidney after brain death. A brain death comittee is working for last few months.
